Great North Run

Hugh and Matt are running the Great North Run tomorrow and I'd like to wish them good luck. I've injured my foot so I'm not running. The Great North Run is of course quite a tough run. Not only because it's a half marathon but also because it passes through some of the most deprived areas of Newcastle and Gateshead. Many runners perish along the way from the constant attacks from the local youth population who try to steal their, usually expensive, running shoes and other sporting clothes which they will no doubt be wearing. The chavs pray on this and the event draws in many of their kind from the surrounding areas, such is their insatable greed for chav-wear. It is of course well known that the chav, or pikey, is drawn irresistably to sporting garments and I can only hope that the organisers of the run start to see this and bring in the necessary safety measures.

Again I wish Hugh and Matt the best of luck, and hope they have not forgotten their taisers.

(Some of the above might not be true).

I'd like to make it clear that despite Gareth's predictions, I didn't see any drooling chav-packs on the run. Everyone was really supportive and there was a great community atmosphere. Top stuff!
